MORE than 100 wetland experts from across Australia have gathered at the Hunter Wetlands Centre for a two-day forum where they have been considering the true value of Australia's wetlands.

The forum, which began yesterday and continues today, gives participants a chance to share knowledge and discuss wetland management strategies.

Wetlands Centre chief executive officer Tara Ure said the forum was about challenging thinking on how Australians valued vital ecosystems like wetlands.
