THE Shortlands Wetland Centre has received $87,940 as part of the Regional Partnerships Program.

The money should enable staff at the centre to begin a campaign that will promote ecotourism in the region and raise awareness about the Lower Hunter estuary.

John Cobb, who is parliamentary secretary to the Transport and Regional Services Minister, said yesterday that the program was the Federal Government's approach to supporting community ideas.
